AndyW-inuk > National BikeSafe Motorcycle Show 2009 - Saturday June 20th & Sunday 21st June 2009 10am to 5pm

AndyW-inuk > The Police Forces in the South West Region are working together with Somerset Road Safety Partnership and the West of England Road Safety Partnership in order to launch Bikesafe in the South West for 2009. After the success of last year's event when 500 motorcyclists attended, it will be back at the Haynes International Motor Museum, Sparkford just off the A303 near Yeovil.

It will involve the South West Ambulance Service Trust, Devon and Somerset Fire Service, Local authorities, Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM), The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA) and other independent motorcycle training services together with local retailers who will be offering test rides on the latest machines.
The message is, that further rider training, post test, can reduce the risk of involvement in serious or fatal incidents dramatically and also reduce insurance premiums. With 20 riders dying on the roads in this area in 2008 we are keen to reduce these numbers in 2009.

To this end the event will enable motorcyclists to gather all the information about what is available in the area in which they live, attend presentations and have the opportunity for ride-outs with police officers to understand the benefits and feel the difference.
"Haynes International Motor Museum has a world-renowned exhibition of vehicles and provides an excellent venue for this event," said PS Mike Smalley. "Rider training is the best accessory that you can buy for your bike or your partner's son's or daughter's machine."

If you belong to a motorcycle club, ride yourself, or with others and have wondered what rider training can do for you, come and join us at Haynes. Have a look round the museum, enjoy the restaurant facilities and realise your full potential as a motorcyclist. But most of all ...

STAY SAFE.
We look forward to seeing you.
