AndyW-inuk  > Motorcycles > State of UK Roads! - potholes!!
Like the title says...state of UK roads!!!!
As if motorcyclists need any more dangers! - we could do without the ever increasingly poor road surfaces, potholes, graveland debris, diesel, raised/sunken manhole covers & drain covers...

AndyW-inuk > Huge pothole! (Feb2008) posted by 'Davey' on www.r1200gs.me.uk/forum - A1185 (Seal Sands road) in Cleveland. Lots of heavy traffic using road to get to chemical companies at Seal Sands. There are also a couple of landfill tips, suspect these guys are overloaded..........
Council are sending out a claim form!
AndyW-inuk > ...and the pothole dimensions
AndyW-inuk > ...and some of the debris (large chunks of road surface/tarmac!) that had come out of the hole
AndyW-inuk > Pothole damage to R1200GS wheel by 'Davey' www.r1200gs.me.uk/forum - Coming home from work one night (Feb2008) I hit either a huge pot hole or the lump of tarmac that had come out of it (or both) . Buckled front and back wheels and obviously blew out both tyres but somehow stayed upright. On investigation the pothole was 12" diameter and 6" deep, afew 5" diameter "boulders" were strewn around, probably broken up by the many wagons on that particular road. I feel very lucky to be in one piece!
